The Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra is in a precarious position because of a lawsuit filed by the U.S. Department of Labor.

The department says it’s suing because the chamber does not pay musicians properly.

In the suit, the department says that the chamber is in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act, which requires that employers pay musicians in line with their compensation.

The lawsuit comes as Wisconsin lawmakers are considering a bill that would allow for the state to begin implementing a $15 minimum wage for state government workers, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
